April creators update - still not showing up

Have people had issues getting the April creators update v1703 to be offered to them via windows update? My pc is about two years old but still strong specs, skylake cpu, Samsung evo SSD, nvidia 980ti but it's on anniversary update still with windows update saying it's upto date. I remember when anniversary edition was released I got it within
a day via windows update. So am baffled why creators is elusive. I know they have drip fed roll out but it's been five months since release and I cannot believe roll out is still ongoing with fall creators due next month. Could it be custom builds being non branded are right at the back of the queue as they aren't on microsofts vip list. If there is something ms doesn't like about the desktop it would be nice to know what as I don't have a prayer of finding out. I actually got the pre requisite privacy settings kb early July and reviewed settings. On our old decaying BRIX gigabyte box pc this was a pre cursors to windows update grabbing creators but alas this has not happened for the pc specialist machine. I know one can force the update in other ways but I am concerned as to why windows update hasn't gotten round to pushing it my way or whether it ever will.

Cheers

I'm afraid that the rollout has just been that slow.

No

While adoption on PCs from most OEMs were around 50 percent, there was one really notable device that stood out due to its very low adoption -- Microsoft’s own Surface Pro 3.

So it's not like every Dell, Lenovo, HP, etc etc have it but self-builds and custom builds aren't getting it.

People with more experience of rollouts like this may have better info, but my guess is there's a good chance at this stage you'd just go straight to Fall Creators.

Thank you, appreciate the response. I guess I'll be a little more patient.

I can agree with Oussebon, my PCS machine got the creators update a month or two ago, admittedly though, the first reboot I did after it had finished updating and doing whatever it needed, it restored itself back to the Anniversary update and I couldn't be bothered to deal with it so left it as is :)

Thank you. I did some googling also and it seems it is still trickling out. I think a large number went and manually installed. At least those who participate on forums. I wonder how many would still be waiting otherwise.

I guess the frustration is windows update letting the wider user base down on delivering it. I'd imagine many people just see windows 10 as windows 10 with no awareness of all the different builds. If windows update doesn't deliver then their machines will never get updated as they won't be on the look out for it.

Given the problems the creators update caused when it came out, the slow delivery is probably a good thing. Even Rakk's pretty modern PC apparently had some kind of disagreement with the update.

It went perfectly on my desktop, but totally borked both the trackpad and external mouse, and networking on my laptop, no amount of driver reinstallation would fix it to the point where only a reinstall fixed it. Works well now though, had to wait until about a month ago for it.
