Anyone put in DDR4 RAM in Optimus VII 15.6"?

Mine came with DDR3L and I wondered if I could use DDR4 RAM as the CPU is an i7 6700HQ.

Some other brands using the same Clevo chassis has DDR4 RAM in them but when I asked PCS about this they said that I can't.

I still have some doubts though.

I currently have 1x8GB DDR3L 1600MHz. I might save up for 2x8GB DDR4 if it's possible or if not I'll go for another 8GB stick DDR3L.

Thanks in advance.

It would require a different motherboard, just like you can't plug DDR4 into a DDR3 desktop mobo. The number of pins is different for one thing.

The Clevo N150RD manual only lists DDR3L http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftp_download.asp?sno=5603&no=3

Perhaps there are alternative models of the N150RD not listed in the manual, or perhaps the others you've seen are using the N150RD1 chassis, which requires DDR4

The benefits of DDR4 may be quite negligible anyway, certainly not a proportionate return on ~£60 for 2x8gb vs the overall build cost of the PC, even if you could fit it (which you can't): http://www.anandtech.com/show/9483/intel-skylake-review-6700k-6600k-ddr4-ddr3-ipc-6th-generation/7

If you don't mind, I'd recommend you to use another 8GB DDR3
Actually if you have doubts there's nothing wrong in checking out for the possibilities but the thing is, if you have got the answer from PCS's specialists then I think now there's nothing you can do. Well this is what I'd recommend but personally I can't say if it's possible or something else.
