was just going to post the same, what do you think of it ?
I think it's quite interesting, the android app is nice as well as the grouping of of people into circles. Facebook are playing a bit of catchup now so i'm not sure if people will move from there ?

I dont see wy everyone says facebook doesnt have the circle feature? Correct me if im wrong, but from using google+ for the last few weeks its identical to the grouping on facebook.

The reason I prefer google+ is the cleanliness of the interface and lack of advertising. Also I liek the fact I dont get asked to save the cow thats strolled onto my farm lol.

Doubt very much google will advertise on it, its not how google make their money. Infact google pride themselves on the lack of advertising. I think about 95% of their money is made from the 3 - 4 adverts displayed on the main google search page.

i thought the FB grouping just allowed grouping of contacts where as G+'s allows for messaging only within that group ?
it's also nice and quiet on there - no blumin game requests and rubbish. :¬)

as long as they keep G+ simple it will become more popular, people recently have only been using fb because all their friends are on it and because there was nothing else to go to but now there is and as soon as all my friends have joint i will probably be replacing facebook

i cant remember how google make their money, i remember getting told and they make millions from it daily, it will come to me eventually, i know that google ads probably earns them a tonne of money considering it lets them put 3-4 ads on at least 10% of all sites

i think they also sell some development software which will make a lot of money

Are you joking me. Advertising is their main source of income. How do you think google make their money? Advertising. Google pays me, through advertising on my videos.

Every time you do a search on Google, you’ve probably noticed that there was a section called “Sponsored Links”. Every time you click on one of those links, Google charge a certain amount of money to the website for the click. When you go on a website you’ll notice advertising from Google too. Daily Common Sense has ads from Google. Same thing happens here, when you click, Google charge a certain amount of money to the website you clicked on and part of that money is given to the webmaster publishing the ads. This is called AdSense and is an enormous source of income for Google.

Just google search how google makes money.

I seriously can't believe you said what you said. And you have a google 'geek' avatar, which makes me wonder why you lack knowledge of google.

I don't mean to come across mean if it seems that way.

You'd have a better argument saying that PCS doesn't make it's money through selling PC's.

As I said, most of their money is made from the adsense stuff, which is generally the 4 adverts on the main google page. Google have always prided themselves on keeping their other products ad free though. My statement still stands.

Also I know what im talking about as my computer science specialist field is multi agent systems, one part of which is auctions (which run adsense on google).

Ontop of that you mention the fact they pay you to advertise, that only helps to strengthen my point, they dont advertise on their own therefore keeping their interfaces clean. I never said they dont advertise, I said that their products such as gmail, financial tracking, web tracking, google+ etc dont have any ads what so ever.

Dont really see how any of what you said differs from what I said.

They are your words, I didn't pretend that's what you said.

Google+ is different from the other google products, and I can bet that adverts will be on it, since it's a money train for them. They have no other reason to create Google+. Ads don't bother me on Facebook, as they are on the side and out of the way.
And that's what Google is going to do.
Google don't pride themselves on being ad free on their products. What can they say "Oh we're so cool because we don't have adverts on Gmail". Who the hell is going to care?

And it's not like they are add free on all their stuff. What's closest to Google plus, that is owned by google? It has to be a social platform, that get millions of users. Oh yeah, Youtube. Hmm, do they have ads. Oh snap, so they do.

I still stand by what I said, google do not have advertising on ther main sites apart from the main google search page. Youtube is different, yes its owned by google but it doesnt use the google name, unliek gmail, google+, goolge, google finance etc.

Lots of people are bothered by ads, you may not be one of them but ads **** people off, google have always prided themselevs on clean interfaces, this includes no advertising and hence why gmail etc stay clean of advertising. Google+ I have not said will deffinately stay add free but if google stick to what they have always done then it will stay ad free.

As for your comment "Google don't pride themselves on being ad free on their products. What can they say "Oh we're so cool because we don't have adverts on Gmail". Who the hell is going to care?" Alot of people will care. And that is precisley what they can say, I know I can't stand ads all the time hence why I have my facebook css files modded to disable the ads. I know plenty of people that dont liek having ads on any website.

Cool. So Google doesn't make it's money from advertising. Same as Microsoft doesn't make money from software or Sony from Hardware. I'd love to know their secret. Must just be lottery winners...that win a lot.

Wow you really dont bother to actually read what people say do you. I said that google dont make money from advertising off their main sites. Things like gmail, google+, google finance, google stats. These sites have all been kept ad free because google doesnt want customer to have ads if at all possible.

I also agreed with you about the fact they use adsense on other peoples websites, because this means they dont have to advertise on their own website. therefore keeping their websites clean. Youtube is an exception but due to the fact it doesnt actually use googles name, it is simply owned by them but kept youtube branding.

I have never said that google dont make their money from advertising. As I said my specialist field in computer science is auction mechanisms of which automated multi agent auctions such as adsense make up a big part.

so, oh yeah G+...
one thing i like on the android app is that you can see public comments in your local area (not sure you can do this online), under Stream swoosh to the left and is called "Near by"

one thing i'm not convinced about is that unknown people can share with you, all these appear in the Incoming bit of the stream but on the homepage this also seems to suggest a whole new ream of 'friends' - fair enough if i had added someone, i might have peeps in common but these randoms need to bugg3r off.

also FB lets you search by name + location, don't think this works on G+ which seeing as how Google know were you are and what you had for breakfast is a bit of a surprise.
