Any upcoming laptops with 4k screens?

Looking for a work laptop, as ultraportable as possible, with 4k screen in 15 or 17 inch - not for gaming or 3D, just work so no need for a GPU

Am I missing one on the configurator or is there something upcoming that fits the bill?

The 13.3 inch Optimus V is available with a 3200x1800 screen. Almost 4K resolution if that helps. Not sure of any the others but the options in the configurator are different for each model so it's maybe best to go through them one by one.

Don't think there is one available yet. Just curious why you need a 4k resolution in a laptop?

To make certain internet streaming services more realistic. World Cup, Wimbledon, Premier League... other... things... one may find on the web ;)

Just kidding!

I trade stocks so screen real estate is very important, being able to display a dozen graphs on a laptop screen (even small) rather than having 4 screens]

I don't want a gaming laptop like the 13inch clevo because I want it to be light and thin and quiet - so no GPU

You won't get any without a GPU running a 4k display. The Intel graphics processors would not be enough to push 4k for basic tasks that require any kind of regular graphics refreshing like video. The laptops do include Optimus which decides which graphics processor is best for the usage so if you aren't gaming it will try to use the intel graphics as much as possible.

I don't think there is currently anything above 1080p apart from the 13" but you could maybe give PCS a ring and see if any of the model refreshes that may turn up in the next few months have 4k or at least higher than 1080p.

I have looked at the optimus 13.3" but I don't need the GPU

If I was after an ultraportable gaming laptop, I would definitely go with that one, but I would be torn as I prefer matte screens

There's actually no option for any kind of matte screen with a resolution above 1920x1080, the QHD one is glossy :(

Thing is, tablets are now driving the market for higher res screens. My brother's laptop from 2010 has a 1440p screen, my laptop is under a year old and has a 720p screen.
