Processor Cooling
Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler

I'd change that to H115i .
Also why you going with (4 x 8GB) RAM?
2x16 is a cheaper option.

1) either CPU cooler is more than adequate for the CPU.

2) 32gb RAM is a complete waste for gaming. It's not futureproof, it's just a waste.

What is the budget?

What price did that spec come to?

What monitor are you gaming on? Resolution nd refresh rate?

If you are buying a monitor separately, what is your rough budget for the monitor?

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately the CORSAIR H115I RGB PLATINUM CPU COOLER doesn't fit my selected case.

Ahh my bad. Didn't check that.
Apart from that, that's a monster.
I'd personally keep everything the way it is if you are going all out and don't care about staying in a certain budget.

Thank you for your reply.

The spec came to roughly 3000EUR which is very close to my budget.
I am using a SAMSUNG LS24D330HSX/EN 24" LED

I also use the rig for Gfx and Video work. Hence the 32 GB.

Without knowing what monitor the OP is gaming on / what VR kit they will be using, that's a crazy statement :)

Moreover, 32gb RAM is just a waste for gaming. Not futureproof, it's just money up the wall.

That's why we need to ask about the monitor :)

This is a 1080p 60hz monitor. It is extremely low spec, and will bottleneck your system's performance in gaming. You are spending almost 3000€ and not using the performance it has to offer. It's like buying a Ferrari to drive to the corner shop. Except people can at least see you have a Ferrari in your driveway, not many people can stare at your PC!

For this budget, you should be looking at 1440p 144hz gaming. A higher resolution monitor (1440p) will give a much sharper image, while the higher refresh rate (144hz) will make movement smoother and games more responsive. These monitors often also have adaptive sync, which reduces stutter and gets rid of tearing.

I'd suggest something like:

Less expensive motherboard, but with decent VRMs. Depends if you plan to use any of the extra features on the Z390-F
16gb RAM. More than futureproof for gaming.
Don't spend so much on SSDs. A single 1TB SSD will do fine for gaming. And you can add more in the future if you ever really want.
The bundled games with the Samsungs are each only worth about £10, which is the price you can pick most of them up for on sale.
Also games don't really care how fast your SSD is. The difference in loading times between a budget SSD and a hugely expensive SSD are a second or two.
The STRIX GPUs are hugely expensive and will not perform much, if any, better than a 'normal' one. That saves you £100 at a stroke.
The RMx PSU is great, though not necessary.

That brings the price down to £1900 or so (€2300 for ROI if that's where you are). Which leaves you a generous budget for a 1440p 144hz monitor.

There are some options I've listed here:

You can still be well under 3000€ even with one of these monitors, and get (e.g.) the RMx PSU, the Z390-F mobo etc. But perhaps take the above as a trimmed version of your spec, pick a good monitor, and then go back to your build to see what to tweak? :)

He mentioned above he will be doing video editing so 32gb ram is justified.

If he has a high budget and doesn't care about saving, it's a solid rig and very much future proof.

32gb RAM may be justified for the VFX etc work.

As a gaming rig, the balance is terrible and buying an RTX 2080 for "futureproofing" is crazy. Fullstop. 3000€ on a 1080p gaming rig is just not a good spend.

That's a rather silly statement to make. What you're saying is 'always spend up to your budget even if you're buying kit you won't need or use'. The 32GB of RAM for example is certainly not a given just because the OP mentions 'video work' we have no idea yet what applications the OP may use nor what resolutions they may be working with. Simply saying 'buy 32GB because you can afford it' isn't at all sensible nor wise.

As for 'future proofing' that is a mythical concept that really has no basis in reality. PC technology is still changing so fast that any kit you have on your desk now will be woefully out of date in three to five years time. Over-specing a PC now is just a waste of money, it won't prevent you wanting to upgrade to the latest hardware in three to five years time.

I future proofed my rig in 2012 & now after 7 years I will finally upgrade.
I think it's a reasonable thing to do and it was very much worth spending extra $$$ to not worry about upgrading for such a long time.

If he has a high budget and wants to spend it all, its up to him.
All I'm saying if he wants to hit the 3000 that he has put away for it, this is a good rig and is worth it.

There's "futureproofing" and then there's just throwing money away. Buying a 2080 Super for a 1080p screen isn't futureproofing, it's just wasting money.

You could buy 5 GTX 1660's for the price of one 2080 Super, 1660 is all that's required for 1080p 60Hz

As above. Any gaming PC worth its salt should expect to have the GPU upgraded within its lifetime. As newer GPUs come out, with newer technologies, better performance, more power efficiency, etc. By the time you need a 2080 Super for 1080p gaming, you could have bought 2-3 GPUs for less, including a future one more powerful than the 2080 Super is anyway!

It's important to futureproof one thing though - the Monitor :)

No point buying a low spec 1080p monitor that bottlenecks the PC and the gaming experience, and will get upgraded before long anyway. The monitor should last at least as long as the PC. 1080p is low spec for this budget range. While 4k is still very expensive and will be for a long time (requiring lots of GPU horsepower and giving relatively low framerates0. 1440p high refresh hits the sweet spot dead on, and is easily affordable for this budget, without compromising performance. It just requires a slight rebalancing of a little money.
