Any Modular PSU?

Any Modular PSU below 750W?

Just wondering as to why there is a lack of modular PSUs here.

I just thought they are very nice when it comes to cable management. Less cables = better air flow, is what I was told.

I am looking and comparing a build here with just buying parts from ebuyer and it works out as £117.54p (-£5 for PCS warranty) cheaper with a better RAM brand, SSD and PSU (modular).. so the thought occurred as to why PCS don't deal with Modular PSU?

I would still go with PCS for peace of mind. But the if anyone has seen my last thread.. you will notice why I am inclined to just buy the parts myself and get some help building it.

Unless PCS can match or go less than that Ebuyer quote im 50/50 atm.

You could try contacting PCS but I don't think they will price match with ebuyer when comparing a full system vs many different parts.

Obviously I would imagine what ever the price difference would be.. that would be the labor cost.

You also get lifetime hardware technical support. I had purchased 2 systems from PCS, I experienced a few issues with the first one but they got it sorted straight away. Just received a laptop from them yesterday and it works great :) As you mentioned before going with PCS will give you peace of mind, I wouldn't feel comfortable putting the parts together if I am spending around £1000.

Corsair do a Hx650 Modular PSU - clicky - but looking at the picture there are only 6 modular connections, so i dont really think the 650hx is worth it.

Corsair do the fully modular AX series, which have some nice sets of braided cables, clicky But, you are going to pay a premium for these units, and pay a premium (about 60 quid) for the cables. I guess its worth it if you have a massive budget and PC hardware n that shiz is your bag... but for the average consumer, i wouldn't bother.

Agreed - unless it's full-modular I don't see the point. Among those 6 modular connections, you're pretty much guaranteed to be using a couple so it's largely pointless.

same with the HX series, on mine even though its the 1050 model, the 24pin, 8pin cpu and two pcie connectors are non modular. Which is a shame, but circumvented by getting a few bitfenix alchemy cables.
