So I made an amendment and I was owed a credit note by pc specialist, thats fine. Now I tried to upgrade my selected drive from 1TB to 2TB, and its asking me for a payment method again? Surely it could add an option to pay with the credit note, I dont want to use my credit card again.

Did you try to go ahead and see if the payment if for the full amount or the difference? I do remember that whenever I got a credit note the money will just be refunded automatically into my credit/debit card.

We get this at work quite a bit. Someone changes something about their travel and is due a refund, but then wants to add something. The cleanest, most transparent way to go about it is to refund the customer for the reduction and then charge them for the addition. You start trying to offset the balance owed either way with the difference that is owed the other way and you're just asking for cockups and all kinds of squiffiness :D (at least in my opinion :) )
