What moitherboard have you picked, it almost certainly will restrict the second choice to amd only if the motherboard only supports crossfire and not sli.

On the asus M5A99X quad cf/sli. I just noticed it so I thought it was worth it to mention. Only happens on http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/amd-top-spec-pc/
