AMD or INTEL based system

I am pretty set on a Intel system as I have never used anything else , I have never owned or used a AMD based system far as but have put a spec together using most of the top compoments including the new top end cards and this comes out considerably cheaper than a Intel based system with similar specs. Now i don't like wasting my cash, are the AMD systems just as powerfull and stable/longlasting as Intel are their diffrent problems building a AMD system than you would get with a Intel system and lastly why can you go so high spec on them but still fairly cheap? ( cheaper than Intel anyway)

A lot of questions I know but I no nothing about a AMD build except that their latest graphics card is at the moment the most powerfull about, and as my system is for gaming and a tad of photography I would like to see if it is worth me jumping ship with Intel for AMD.

Cheers

AMD is generally more bang for your buck compared to Intel. I see Intel as a luxury, that if you can afford, go for it, but if you want to get a little bit more for your money, go AMD. Theres no real difference between them (well, there is, but most probably won't notice it). Im an AMD fan, simply because thats all i've been with from my first PC to this one :) Which ever you get, you'll get a great rig, just save money on an AMD one :)

I was going to go for amd when I first starting looking into getting a custom built pc, but wanted to wait for bulldozer, but as it took so long for it to be released went over budget for a I7-2600, I must say its ace! glad i went with intel.
