AMD CPU / 3070 laptop, just a dream?

Hi All,

Those with much more knowledge than me, do you expect we will see new AMD CPU / 3070 GPU combos or have intel put a monopoly on the new graphics cards like they did with previous gen? Is it too early tell?

I know it’ll probably be 2022 and lockdown 17 before I could get my hands on one anyway, but a man can dream...

Not sure, but at the moment there seems to be a shortage of AMD CPUs anyway across all laptops.

eg. If you look at the 15.6" laptops, only one available with AMD CPU. Thin and Light range of laptops - again only one available and then the 17.3" laptops: none available - the two that are listed as having AMDs dont have the option within it so obviously no stock.

Either AMD are about to release a range of CPUs or there is a large shortage at moment for laptop CPUs from them

The 4000 series from AMD was not great with games anyway, as shown in some direct comparison videos on youtube. The 8 core Intel 10875H beats the 4800H by AMD by 10-15% FPS, if I recall correctly.
Power consumption would probably see AMD on top.
