Advice please on a gaming build

Can anyone please help me configure a system that will mainly be used for gaming, with a small bit of unprofessional video editing.

The types of games I want to play to be able to play inZoi, cyberpunk 2077, the sims 3 and 4 with all expansions and mods, cities skyline, modded skyrim, red dead redemption 1+2 Baulders gate 3, hogwarts legacy, the last of us, minecraft. Etc

My budget is about £2000 but I can push it to £2500 if it's a big difference in performance

My monitor currently is an acer g246hl but I can upgrade that if it's no good so please don't base the build around my current monitor.

Thanks for any help, I don't trust my knowledge lol

First off, I'm afraid that display is pretty trash-tier now. It's old, low resolution, low refresh-rate, poor basically in every way. You should upgrade it. Should we consider your budget to be £2500 tops including a new display?

For a real knockout 1440p full HDR1000 monitor, you don't have to spend a fortune, this one is at £250, would then get you a good solid 1440p system included in the £2500 budget

Thank you both, and yes in that case with a monitor included in the budget I can do £2500, a little over is fine if it makes a difference.

That AOC monitor is great for its price and gives you plenty of breathing space on budget. I'd suggest, however, spending more on the monitor. You could get the Alienware AW2725DF for £600: it's a really nice display: it doesn't get nearly as bright as the AOC display, but it does get infinitely dark because it's an OLED. Personally, that's where I'd be looking.

Sadly, £1900 is a bit tight for a 1440p system, but it's just about manageable, especially if you can transfer a Windows licence from an old PC...

Case
FRACTAL FOCUS 2 ARGB GAMING CASE (BLACK) Nice cheapish case
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.5GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) Plenty for 1440p gaming (the X3D chip won't benefit you much in most games)
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7) Cheap-ish but decent motherboard

32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 (2 x 16GB) Ideal memory
Graphics Card

16GB GIGABYTE RADEON™ RX 9070 XT GAMING OC - 2 x HDMI, 2 x DP The best 1440p graphics card option

1st M.2 SSD Drive

2TB CORSAIR CORE XT MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 5000 MB/R, 4400 MB/W) Games drive

OLED is unquestionably the top tier, I didn't even think to consider OLED, but @sck451 is absolutely right, if you can get a 1440p system in with an OLED that's definitely the way to go.

Thanks for the configuration, I appreciate your time!
I can transfer windows yeah, I should have noted that originally.

Iv read good things about the 9070xt so basing a build around that, would having a budget of £2500 excluding the monitor make a big difference?

I'm confused! The build I have suggested is based around the 9070 XT.

You're talking about adding hundreds of pounds to the budget, right? Which monitor are you inclined to go for?
