Hi i bought a desktop from here back in 2013 the pc for reasons which i have no idea will not recognise my 780 any more . I thought i may as well get a new build i was thinking this spec below, My budget is around £2000-£2200. I will be using for gaming and not much else. currently at 1080p but will be upgrading to a 1440p monitor by chistmas. I was just about settled on this spec below then i find out coffee lake is due for release in October. Do you think i should wait will there be a big increase in gaming performance? Also i am unsure on which case would be best suited would there be enough room and airflow with the case i have chosen. is there any other case you would recommend. any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.

It should offer similar performance for gaming but having more cores may be more futureproof.

The 460X is a good case and offers decent cooling.

Graphics Card
11GB EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 GAMING - DVI, HDMI, 3 x DP
This is insanely expensive and not worth the price premium. I'd suggest you either get a regular 1080 ti, or buy and source your own like an EVGA SC

If you only have a 1920x1080 monitor why not replacing your gtx 780 with a gtx 1070? If everything else is working well you could delay a full upgrade

Hi i think i may still go with ftw3 as the extra features and EVGA 3 year warranty are worth it to me. Is there any other cases with good air cooling you would recommend? I want to future proof as much as possible so i think will wait for coffee lake to be released i heard it will be October 5th, do you know if this is true? also do you know how long after release pcspecialist will take to have the 8700k and compatible mobo in stock. Thanks

Hi i will be upgrading to 1440p monitor shortly after i buy the pc. i need a cpu and ram upgrade it is pretty old now also i dont feel comfortable installing a new gpu my self as reseating my gtx 780 is what caused it to no longer be recognised. not sure why
