Advice on this build

Greetings all. I need a bit of help with my current thoughts about upgrading my PC. Below is my current PC which I purchased from PCS in 2012 and changed some parts over the years. The changed parts are in red.

Below is the build I am looking to buy. I haven't selected a GFX card as I intend on bringing my GTX970 over for the time being as I feel it's still a good card for the games I play (Overwatch/Skyrim/EVE Online/Minecraft) and that my CPU was the bottleneck. I also plan on bringing my PSU from my previous build over as well.

To me this seems like a lot of effort to upgrade essentially just the CPU. But I don't know if my current case would fit the cooler I have selected and I don't know if I feel comfortable removing my current motherboard and installing a new one, plus CPU and cooler if it did fit.

Would my idea to bring the GFX/PSU from my current to new build work? Can you guys see something I could do differently to achieve the same result?

You could just upgrade the motherbord, RAM, and CPU yourself.

If you're comfortable replacing a PSU, you can probably do the rest.

We can't advise on self build projects on this forum (you could try an open forum like Tom's Hardware for more detailed advice) but as you say, it is a lot of expense for essentially a CPU upgrade that may be limited in the gains it will bring in some of those titles. Certainly limited versus the cost of buying a new PC for a thousand pounds or thereabouts.
