Advice on Spec Please

Would be grateful for any suggestions/guidance on the build I've put together. I use a PC mostly for gaming, but also media consumption and work (nothing too intensive on the latter 2). I don't really have a budget, but also don't want to be spending in areas that would be perceived as a complete waste of money. I've added some 'rationale' next to some of the items on which I picked them to give some extra context.

Thanks in advance!

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 5000T RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) - General consensus appears that this is the optimal choice for gaming.
Motherboard
GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E) - I have no good reason better than other options seemed to disable front USB slots on the case I selected or were even more expensive. Any guidance here in particular would be appreciated.
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) - Price difference between 5200 and 6000MHz is small, whilst 64GB is overkill.
Graphics Card
24GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4090 - HDMI, DP - I saw there was an ASUS option with 2 HDMI ports for about an extra £150. I didn't think this would be necessary, but happy to be advised otherwise.
Graphics Card Support Bracket
NONE (BRACKET INCLUDED AS STANDARD ON 4070 Ti / RX 7700 XT AND ABOVE)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB CORSAIR FORCE MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 4950 MB/R, 4000 MB/W) - Smaller SSD for Windows installation. Would've gone smaller, but this was the smallest Corsair option and kept brand consistency across both SSD Drives/most of the build.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB CORSAIR CORE XT MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 5000 MB/R, 4400 MB/W) - Everything else, games etc.
1st Storage Drive
4TB SEAGATE IRONWOLF PRO 3.5", 7200 RPM 128MB CACHE - Primarily media storage.
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ - MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - Online calculators were putting the build wattage at 700-800W, so 1000 seemed to give sufficient extra headroom.
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core) - No change to default
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT RGB CPU Cooler - Continuing with Corsair, and I like the LCD screen option.
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING - No change to default
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD) - No change to default
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT - No change to default
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS - No change to default
Operating System
Windows 11 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence

Hi, what monitor will you use with it? Make & model, resolution/refresh rate.
We also need to know the maximum budget.

Hi.

Thanks for your response.

I currently use an LG 27GL850-B which is 1440p 144Hz and a Dell U2720Q, which is 4K 60, both purchased 4 years ago.

In terms of budget, as mentioned in my initial post; I don’t really have one. My post comes from a place of ‘I don’t want to spend £200 more on X item when the marginal gains would generally be regarded as needless’ for example, which is primarily where my request for guidance regarding the motherboard or the material benefit of spending an extra £150 on the Asus 4090 vs the one selected in my build comes from.

So you have enough for a suitable monitor to pair it with?

That would cost about £1500 upwards

Okay, assuming you have an unlimited budget, this is the build I would recommend to match your existing QHD/1440p monitor.
The Dell U2720Q is not a gaming monitor.

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 5000X RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE - Better value than 5000T, with better/newer fans installed.
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 6E) - ASUS support is slightly better than Gigabyte one.
Memory (RAM)

32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
16GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070 Ti SUPER - HDMI, DP, LHR - Top tier GPU for QHD/1440p.
Graphics Card Support Bracket

NONE (BRACKET INCLUDED AS STANDARD ON 4070 Ti / RX 7700 XT AND ABOVE)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 6500MB/sW) - Faster OS Drive.
1st M.2 SSD Drive

2TB CORSAIR CORE XT MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 5000 MB/R, 4400 MB/W)
1st Storage Drive
4TB SEAGATE IRONWOLF PRO 3.5", 7200 RPM 128MB CACHE
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1200W RMx SHIFT SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - Newer ATX 3.1, better efficiency, transient spikes protection, plenty room for future upgrades.
Power Cable

1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR ICUE LINK H115i RGB HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER - 280mm AIO with Link, already overkill for that CPU (LCD can be purchased separetly), less cables.
Thermal Paste

STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Extra Case Fans
3 x Corsair ICUE LINK QX120 RGB PWM Fan + Controller Kit - Aesthetics only, Link compatible.

ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)

Would you like a 4090 with 1440p resolution? 😮
This is a contradictory request because such GPU is insanely expensive and makes no sense in any gaming system (especially at 1440p), in my opinion.

My intention over the coming months is likely to replace the monitors to 4K 144Hz ones.

The 4090 does seem a bit OTT from all I’m reading and a 4080 Super would be sufficient, even with the intended monitor upgrades, but there’s also an element of future proofing a bit more, and being aware that I’d likely be reluctant to upgrade the graphics card myself in the future. So if spending an extra £700-800ish on the 4090 means ‘great, don’t have to worry about that for X much longer’, then I kinda see that as material gain, especially when I’m already spending seemingly at least £3k + 2 new monitors.

Appreciate your help/responses :)

Unfortunately, upgrading the GPU is unavoidable regardless of today's choice.
Technology and the development of new software progress at such a quick pace that it is impossible to create a 'futureproof' machine without thinking about future upgrades.

The 4080 SUPER is more than capable of handling 4K; keep in mind that the new RTX 5000s will be available in the coming months, so if you intend to change monitors within a couple of months, it's fine to install a 4080 SUPER; otherwise, I'd personally stick with the 4070ti and then decide what to do in 6 months or more. That's my opinion. :)
