Advice on spec: 4070 super & 9700x

Hey guys, I would appreciate some advice on the following spec. I have a 4k 60Hz monitor. This will be my first PC build after having used my 1060 laptop for many years.

My use case is mainly gaming. I mostly game on single player games like black myth Wukong, Hogwards legacy, Baldur's Gate 3 etc.

The current quote is £1835 (including VAT). I'd like to try not to exceed this price point too much as I'm a casual gamer.

Hi, first of all, I'd suggest to don't buy anything now and wait until the new hardware is announced at CES on January 6th.

In my opinion, the following are the subpar areas for a dedicated gaming PC:

- Unknown, low-quality case (case is a critical component, never understimate it)
- Non-gaming CPU (the king of the hill is the 9800X3D)
- Too weak GPU (more suitable for lower resolutions)
- Single M.2 drive (we'd always recommend double drive solution to separate the OS and game installs)
- Too low PSU (the 750W RMe is currently the lowest ATX3 PSU we’d suggest for an entry-level 1080p gaming PC).
- Unknown, low-quality cooler

What's your maximum budget? Which monitor model do you currently own? A 4K 60Hz monitor would limit your gaming experience.

Yeah I'll probably wait till after the new hardware is announced.

Max budget is £2000. My current monitor is Dell 32 4K USB-C Hub Monitor - P3222QE. I bought it for work (using it with another laptop) and did not optimise for gaming.

The subpar areas make sense, especially the PCS branded ones. I've made some changes to the config (with some questions attached). Do you mind taking another look? Thank you so much!

As you correctly said, that monitor is unsuitable for gaming. For a decent experience, I recommend purchasing another one.

With the given budget, you should strive for a 1440p PC.
