I need a large screen, as a smaller screen is becoming difficult to read. I need a laptop for multi-tasking (two or three email clients, streaming data, two or three browsers, one or two disk utilities such as virus checker, registry clearner, MS Word & MS Excel -- all running at the same time, often) but I don't do gaming, nor watching DVDs -- but working with family photos & albums. The laptop has to be future proof (for six years or so) -- and will be linked to a Scanner, a camera, an external hard drive, a printer, a photo printer. I have had an IBM T42p for three or four years and it is now so, so slow, especially when I find myself in a village where the internet speed is far less than 1 Mega (often just above .5 mega). The present IBM T42p is most reluctant to do much -- even without any peripherals at all. Thank you for your advice/opinion.
