Advice Needed. Desktop Build & Monitor. £2500 Budget.

Hi there ,

I want to finally upgrade from laptop to PC but have no idea about builds or what to prioritise in a build.

I have a £2500 budget for both the build and monitor.

As for use , I will use it primarily for gaming (Mostly raiding & Gpose in Final Fantasy XIV & Baldurs Gate 3) and learning 3D Modelling & Digital Painting.

If anyone could give some advice or something to go off of it'd be greatly appreciated, thanks!

In my opinion, £2500 is a good amount for a top 1440p gaming PC.

Here's what I'd buy if I were in your shoes with that money.

If you intend to transfer your OS license from the old laptop, you can save money by removing it.
If the budget includes a monitor, you need to downgrade the GPU to a 4070 SUPER or equivalent.
It will leave you with roughly £300 for a nice 1440p monitor.

If £2500 includes the monitor, you may consider this alternative (keeping the 4070ti SUPER and OS removed) or simply dropping the previous to a 4070 SUPER (what I would do) for roughly the same price (£2150-2250). Then spend £250–300 on a decent 1440p display..

To bring the cost down a little the below is still the same level of performance. From here I would suggest 2 good options:

1 - Front an extra £100 to the budget so that you can get a £300 monitor Here

2 - Transfer your windows license to the new desktop to cover the costs.
