Hiya guys,
Appreciate any advice on this! Spec posted below.
Sound is fine during normal PC use, but running some higher end games on high settings like Starfield and there's a noticably more loud, grating sound from fans. Just going by ear listening to the top of the case, it seems to be either the GPU fans or the CPU cooler fan - I suspected it might be the front three case fans as I've seen people mention they were noisy on here before, but I'm not sure that's what's happening.
Is there a way to tell which fans are the culprits? Maybe you could tell from the spec if the GPU/CPU is the bottleneck and that's how you'd tell, I'm not sure. I got some speeds + temps from the Nvidia overlay if that helps at all, I guess they would be showing the GPU fans:
- Normal/Idle use: 0 - 1850 RPM cycles; c. 45 degrees; noise fine
- Higher end game: 2000 - 2500 RPM cycles; c. 78 degrees; seems to go at 2000 for longer periods in game and that's not too bad noise-wise, but when it goes over 2500 in short bursts it gets quite noisy
Note I haven't set fan curves since getting the PC (and I'm not 100% sure how )
Not sure if dust could somehow be causing the problem but there's little visible dust inside the case and I do dust with air fairly regularly.
Thanks v much for any help
