Advice for £1,700 gaming PC

Hello,

I'm currently looking to acquire a whole new PC, and I configured one of the pre-made builds using the RTX 3070 as a base.

My budget really is about £1,700 (with a little room for leniency) so I just wanted to check that there's nothing inherently wrong with this build - I'm looking to be able to play the latest games such as Valhalla and Cyberpunk (currently at 1080p which is the monitor I have) and I won't be streaming anything.

The adjustments I made myself were only to the memory; opting for a 1TB SSD storage drive and an additional 512GB M.2 SSD.

Just wanted a second opinion to see if any improvements can be made or if it looks okay, thank you!

And long term, you’re going to want to want to upgrade your monitor to harness the power of the 3070, it’s absolutely wasted at 1080p. I’d highly recommend acquiring yourself one of these...

Hello there. Im pretty much a noob when it comes to PC Specs but I would advise you to get more ssd space. You should probably get 1TB at least for gaming. The Samsung SSD comes with Valhalla for free by the way but it would go past your budget. Since I'm new I dont expect you to listen to me but for playing games you want 1TB. Also I recommend the 2TB on the Hardrive. if you get Seagate's Barracuda it is cheaper than PCS 1TB. Like I said, not expecting you to listen to me but its just my recommendation.

I kept seeing posts about AMD being better than Intel but for some reason I still had it pegged in my brain that Intel was better, I'll revise my choice in that, thank you! And I'll definitely be getting a monitor some point soon, just wanted to get the fundamental rig before I start upgrading my peripherals, thanks for the input!

Storage is what I'm most unsure of what to do really, I'm a sucker for marketing which is why I wanted one of those M.2 SSDs, but a regular SSD would work just fine I guess? Your recommendation sounds reasonable so I'll opt to do that instead, thank you for the input!

You definitely want an M.2 as your boot drive. They’re the next generation of SSD and they’re blazing my fast. I have the Samsung 970 in mine and from pressing the power button it’s a mere eight seconds before I’m at my home screen. If you can stretch your budget to get the 1TB PCS M.2 in your system, it’s well worth it 👍

When you say boot drive, do you mean that's the one that the operating system would be installed on? Sorry if it's a stupid question, just making sure I know what goes where haha

Never be afraid to ask, we’re here to help, not to point and laugh and call you a noob.

That is correct, your boot drive is where they’ll install your OS 👍
