A proper software engineer

This is Margaret Hamilton, lead software engineer on the Apollo project. This is the source code for the Automatic Guidance System which she wrote. My guess is that it's almost certainly assembler code - hence the huge size. I was having fun writing assembler in the early 1970's too.

Respect to a real software engineer and computing pioneer! :punk:

Assembly was all they could use as they were using DTL and TTL iirc, no custom built controllers here.

If you've never heard of Fran Blanche or the EEV blog on youtube, they did teardowns of one of the guidance modules. Now for the time the boards were produced, there were some crazy technologies implemented, which ended up trickling down into commercial use, so without the Apollo missions we might not even be where we are today in a technological standpoint. All NASA's technologies end up going commercial at some point and we'd be a bit behind technologically if it wasn't for them.
