A possible end to wait times..?

Going through the forums it's pretty apparent that most people are a bit stressed out waiting for their orders, and that most of these people are in pre-production. So could I suggest a page with a list of the current orders in the queue (Just the reference number if people want a little privacy  ) and as the list moves forward people at the top are taken out of the queue and new orders are placed on the bottom. So people could just ctrl+f, search for their reference number and find out a bit more about how far away they are from receiving their order :)

Not a bad idea, it would surely stop a lot of complaints as everyone would be checking that page. But PCS would need someone to monitor the forums 24/7 (They probably do anyway) and most the time I think PCS would rather let people keep their order number private

Whilst they do monitor the forums when they can, it really is when they can, its not all the time as far as I know.
If it was a forums thread, it really would become a full time job keeping it upto date which will just not be an option - not unless everyone wants their PC prices to go up to pay for another staff member to look after said thread.
Some sort of software would have to be written to do it automatically to keep it vaguely correct and upto date

To be honest seeing as they are a business, they probably have someone changing an Excel sheet on a As and When basis when they receive the orders.
But I agree that they may have to employ someone to monitor the forums all the time which could incrase prices

The problem with that is people who buy fast track... They get slotted in right at the top, my suspicion is far more people pay for fast track than you would think. I doubt people would be happy if people were constantly being added above them. Also they sometimes have to put orders aside while they wait for stock. People will always find a way to feel cheated.

I think the current state is about as good as you will get. It lets you know when you enter the various stages of the process.

I'm pretty sure fast track are built by a separate department to the regular orders. Fast tracks don't push back the regular orders, although I could well stand corrected on that one.

or just a bit more patience, considering is a customised gaming rig around 20 working days doesn't seem unreasonable.

My understanding, again I could be wrong, was that they were put to the top of the pile and built first.

Say Keynes orders a PC, he is next in line for building. However I order a fast tracked (5 day) just before his order is started. I get priority. Now say just before my order is started Boozad orders a 3 day fast track, mine gets bumped down the list and his is done first. That's how it was explained a couple years ago anyway, might be well different now.
