A new laptop ready to fly and almost ready to be returned!

New laptop received and the same day the i noticed the fan was very noisy! Updated everything I could but nothing. Then I noticed the software to control the system (fan included) was not working! After 3 hours of tests, reinstall, online check, nothing... Sent a message to support, not heard much, called them and they tried to fix the issue, remote logging tried different thing but the software simply doesn't work! Last word they told me was "give me 24h and I'll come back to you", never heard anything back. Called again after 3 days or so, went through the same process again and again the support told me "give me 24h and I'll come back to you". This was around the 16th of December.
I am writing this "review" the 3rd of January and I'll let you guess! I am still waiting these 24h to pass so they can fix the issue.
In the meanwhile I haven't turned the laptop on since the 16th of December as this issue is really annoying and the laptop noisy and I cannot really work with this machine having a jet turbine on my hear all the time.
PCSpecialist Support, when these 24h will pass? Would a month be sufficient or should I return the laptop to you?

Update: I tried to post the review and give them the 3 pictures (but their system does not allow me to upload more than 1 file) as requested but their system keeps blocking me (white cross with red background on the browser). Not sure what is going on there...

Can you please post the full specs from your orders page?

N.B. It is important to note that this forum is NOT an official PCS support.

no VPN, I just have the router for the connection, I tried using Brave as browser and then chrome, same outcome.
Also even after reducing the images to less than 1 MB, I can still upload only one image...

Yes, because the IP is flagged as suspicious on the global spam filter.

If you're not using a VPN or AV with included VPN, then it's your actual home IP that's flagged.

I was able to submit the review but with only one image. So the issue was that the file was too big I guess. Still cannot upload more than 1 picture...

Actually, I'm not too familiar with the Clevo control center, but what do you mean by ''not work''? Can you run the software or not?

Can you post a screenshot of your control center? I'm sure someone here has a Clevo laptop and can offer some guidance.

After 3 hours of tests, reinstall, online check, nothing...
Did you tried also a clean install? If so, what method did you use?

We need as much information as possible before making any suggestions that are not best guesses.

Clevo control centre app does not work. It simply does not run.
I cannot post a picture because the software simply does not even start.

In the 3 hours time I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software several times. New download from PCS, download from Clevo website, nothing worked. Uninstalled using an installer manager (that one suggested by PCS) and tried again but nothing at all.
The session with the PCS support tried the same exact things and ended up having my same conclusion, the app doesn't work!

What I was able to do was installing the Clevo app via microsoft store (not the version provided by PCS) and that app was opening but it looked that had no impact at all in the performance.
It was curious to see that the fan schedule was supposed to keep the fan speed at 10% (or whatever) until the processor was at at 70 degrees (or whatever). The same app shown a CPU temperature of 45 degrees and the fan ramping to 35-40% of speed, hence the noise. And this was happening with nothing opening or running on the machine, just window and a web browser. No update happening, not much running on the background...

So my conclusions are that the latest Clevo app doesn't work on my machine and the old version does not control anything for some reason. Maybe there is something missing in terms of BIOS setting or the installation does not go as it should so the software does not really control the fans?

100% as @SpyderTracks mentioned, the first thing I would do is a clean install, followed by correct OS configuration.

Assuming the CC you attempted to install from the Clevo website was the correct version and there are no hardware concerns, I believe it will fix the problem; otherwise, I'm afraid a bios reflash will be your only option.

I called again technical support and they sent me another version, installed but it is bugged (again). They are waiting for some support from their technical team and they should let me know "on Monday". Let's see if someone calls me back...

As previously said, it's quite likely that you have a borked OS configuration, and as a result, the master driver (aka the control center) will never work properly.
