What gpu would be better getting 570x2 or a 680 ??
Also am pretty bad at this so can someone try making me a spec less than £1500 ? (including a monitor)

its a mixed bag of reviews i have read on this subject , some say GTX680 - its better than two GTX570s SLI for performance & FPS

Others say its not GTX 570s SLI are better

But i can personallty gaurantee you this - 2X GTX580s SLI are better than one GTX 680 for performance & FPS
(i have 2 of them in SLI 3gb models , stomp all over 1x 680 in 99% of benchmarks)

Take a look at some benchmarks first before deciding what to go for

Also a single card is cooler generally & doesnt require as much power to run as two GPUs

Also you can avoid possible muti GPU issues by going for a single GPU (althogh personally with nvidia SLI i have had no issues , but with AMD crossfire tons of them.)

All depends on what setings you want , what FPS & also what kind of games you play ( some are more demanding than others , so possibly a multi gpu solution might not be needed at all)

Hope this is of some help )

Might be the case is out of stock. Call them tomorrow to see if you can order the GTX 580 over the phone.

you can order your pc with no GPUs & source them elsewhere , what games are you thinking of playing ? & at what FPS & settings do you want ? , as tbh there isnt much that a GTX 680 wont max out at 60fps - you might not need a Two card setup at all.

as far as black ops 2 is concerned , a GTX 680 will be more than adiquate ( call of duty games are not that demanding)

im not farmiliar with diablo , swtor or tera but im sure someone here will be & can guide you with more knowledge in these games , but i would be willing to bet that a single GTX 680 would be more than adiquate.

But if you really want to go down the two GPU route go for the two GTX 580s SLi - but see if someone can advise you better for the 3 games that i really cant - you could save quite a bit of cash.

a single 680 will be ideal, its much better than SLI 570s, mainly because of the power consumption and he amount of heat, considering my single 570 can run any game at ultra at 1080p with no lag then a 680 will be more than ideal, infact, a single 580 is fine imo

looks like a single GTX 680 is the choice to go for , the only area where me & Wozza365 might differ is with FPS (frames per second) , but that all depends what you want 60FPS or under that amount

A 570 , a 580 & a 680 will run any game in ultra @ 1080p no problem with no lag , but in 60fps for certain games none of them will,
(Namely battlefield 3 , witcher 2 just to name a few)

so it just comes down to what FPS you want really

From the reviews I have read 2 GTX 680 outperforms slightly better than 1 GTX 690. If you have the money I will go with 2 GTX 680.

Best to always go with the best card you can afford, rather than 2 lower cards. Allows you to SLI/Crossfire later down the line.

hmmm i really don't know like erm is it worth it just getting the 690 instead of the 2x680's because it will go over my budget of £2000 but if someone can find a way to make it fit that price with a monitor included this is a gaming/livestreaming rig so fell free to help me please :/ ??

Isnt the GTX 690 more expensive than 2 GTX 680? I go with 2 GTX 680.

yeah the 690 is more than the 2 680s because i have been told the 690 is 2x gpu's in one

I have 3 monitors and the GTX 680 SLI and it runs very well. If you are thinking of gaming in only one monitor a GTX 680 should be sufficient and add a 2nd one when you want more performance. From what I read the GTX 690 are 2 GTX 680 that are clocked down a little.
