Looks really good beast, but why no SSD? Any particular reason or just budget. Can't wait to hear back from you once you got it.

SSDs are insane, but quite honestly I don't need one. My desktop sports a 120GB Corsair Force 3, and I rarely experience an oticeable difference when jumping between that and my Vortex II's 750GB standard.

Given that the price of the system would exceed £2.2k with the SSD, I left it out. Can always add one later :p

Is the 680M in stock?

Stock available. Just had my order upgraded to 680M - from 7970! Would've gone mentle if I had to wait even a week more!!! They said they have 680 available in excess now!

In building now! Changed from 79070m to 680m - runs cooler, more stable drivers, and a slight performance edge - what's not to like...the price, I know! Had to downgrade RAM to 16B to fit the budget, so my testing VM environment will have to shrink until I can afford the other 16gb. Until then, I will just play games instead :)

Dangro, personal question... how come you have 3 Vortex laptops? Do you update every year or something??

The 680M 15" laptop which I'm waiting for is replacing this 4-year old laptop. That being said, this thing could honestly work another few years!

Not sure what my point is.

My cousins will end up with my Vortex II's :p
