5 fans or 3 fans in a case that can only fit 4 more fans?

Hi there, I'm building a list for my friend, using a TD500 mesh. The case comes with 3 argb fans preinstalled in the front panel, but my friend wants it fully decorated with LL120s. The TD500 can support 7 fans, 3 of which are already installed, and PCS only gives an option to buy 3 or 5 LL120s with a controller. I would buy an extra ll120 but I'm not sure if the controller they will be using will only take 3 fans if I buy the 3 fan bundle, and I don't want to overspend an extra 40 pounds just to buy something that would've cost me 20 pounds. Has anyone been in this situation before? What should I do?

My question would be whether you're wedded to the combination of the TD500 and the LL120s. The TD500 has ARGB fans built in, but I think getting them to be synchronised with Corsair fans would be either next to or entirely impossible.

My inclination would be to look at the Corsair 4000X instead (you can buy it yourself and get it sent to PCS for them to build in), which comes with three SP120 Elite fans. You could then buy a extra three fans of the same type to add to it. This could either be three SP120 Elites to go on the top panel, or two SP140 Elites to go on the top and an SP120 to go on the rear exhaust. This would all match up nicely and the 4000X, especially in white, is a gorgeous case.

This all assumes you are not getting an AIO: if you are, the fan question will be quite different. So it would be great if you could post your full specs (and configuration link) along with budget and monitor (make, model, resolution, refresh rate).
