3D option

I am in the process of selecting a new laptop. I want it to be future proof. I have been considering the Vortex 3D option but cannot find any posts giving opinions on this option.

I have also been looking at the Alienware 17 inch with 3D. Hi Devolution offer a high spec 3D I7-3940XM, 32gb Cosrair ram, twin 680 GPu, 256gb ssd and 500gb HDD for Gbp 2595. Any thoughts ??

I'd bet money you won't get too many votes for the alienware here :)

From what I've seen of the Vortex 3D's spec's (I don't own one, nor am I any kind of expert) it certainly sounds like it should be great. The components are all high end, the build quality will be good and the after sales service is typically excellent from PCS. I can't speak for Dell (Alienware) unfortunately.

The after sales service was a concern with Hi Devolution as they are a US based company and seem to do online diagnostics before they will contemplate any service. BUT their price and spec was good, although their advert was not quite consistent when it came to the CPU. One part of the ad said 3940 but further down, in product details, it degraded to a 3840. I asked but I guess they are still in bed.

I just wonder if I will use the 3d. I have 3D televisions but haven't ever used the facility.
Thanks again.
