Hi guys, I have a i7 2600 in my PC (not the k). When looking around the BIOS I saw an option and clicked on it (thinking it would lead to another menu :turned: ). Computer turned on and off a few times and now thinks it is a 2600k? (Seems to have been some overclock type option?) Screens from CPU-Z:

And disturbingly:

Could anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks!

EDIT: So what I think has happened is the mobo has clocked the CPU ~400mhz (basically the max of the 2600 (?) )
Just confused why it identifies as a 2600k.

Lol, this is weird. Does it say it's a 2600k in the BIOS too or just Windows? Also, do you know if it said 2600 before the OC?

The 2600 showing as a "k" is a known bug in CPU-Z - it was reported through their feedback forum a while ago so it should be sorted in the next full release. There may well be Beta's - worth checking CPUID's website.
