230W vs 330W AC Adapter

Looking at the specification page for the Octane II, I've noticed that there are 230W AC Adapters available, and 330W for High End Usage adapters available.
What is the actual difference here? Will the laptop never be able to achieve its full capability with the 230W adapter? So for pushing it to its gaming limits you need to go for the 330W Adapter?

I don't think which power brick I select is going to have any effect on the compatibility checker really, as both the 230W and 330W are options on the selection, but on other devices only one is available.

Or is the 330W adapter a requriement for things like the i7 options on the Octane but not the i5? Or for a 980M/i7 combo rather than an i5/970 combo like I'm looking at?

This has changed on the configurator, it used to be if you order the GTX 980M you would need the 330, with the 970 the standard power brick and a warning came with the 980 after clicking proceed. I do not know why they have changed this or it may be a fault.

Hm, even stranger is that you can order a Defiance II with a 980M and only the 180W power brick option is available.
Though this may be down to it having a laptop CPU rather than a desktop CPU as the Octane has
