Hey guys.

For the past week or so, whenever I launch a game, be it through steam (Ultra Street Fighter IV, Risk of Rain, etc) or otherwise (Hearthstone, League of Legends), after a while it will just stop responding, and the task will be ended.
Then the process of the game stays open in task manager and just won't be closed no matter what I try. Then if I try to shut down or restart my laptop, the screen goes black as if it is going to power down but it stays on. I have to hold the power button to turn my laptop off.

Specs:
Intel i7 4700MQ @2.40GHz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GTX 765m.

I just launched dxdiag and the display tab gets half way and just won't load past that.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Trying a clean install right now. Just booted up Hearthstone and it's crashed half way through a game. Same problem.

Can play games in UMA mode, which is forcing the integrated GPU to be used instead of the nvidia one. Sooo.. there's a problem with my dGPU. *sigh*

if you are fine playing with the integrated then you should try unstalling the drivers and reinstalling (pretty important to delete ANYTHING from the previous installation and restarting the pc before reinstalling)

if this doesnt work then it can be a problem with the dGPU or some kind of incompatibility

Overheating maybe? Is it full of dust? the 765 draws more power and creates more heat.
