17.3" Vortex II 3D Vision now available :D

I'm waiting for the GTX580M version to come out, will these have a matte screen option? Also is there any difference in appearance using the 120Hz screen as opposed to the 60Hz screen when not using the 3D vision glasses?

There won't be a matte screen option available for the 3D vision laptops unfortunately. May I ask why you would want a matte screen for a 3D vision laptop, given that you're likely to be using it indoors with very little glare?

120Hz screens are smoother and generally better quality than their 60Hz counterparts. :)

Wait...what?? I was on livechat yesterday morning talking about the Vortex ii 17 and mentioned that i would order within the next 3 weeks.

I specifically asked if there was going to be any major new hardware available for anything Vortex related. The response was no!! I was thinking about things like a backlit keyboard etc.

SO..Within the next 2-3 weeks, is there going to be any major new hardware available for Vortex laptops? ...Meaning i should hold off ordering for a bit.

Backlit keyboards will be available in 2012 - there are no further planned updated to the Vortex range in 2011.

Do you know when in 2012 backlit keyboards will be available? Is it just the keyboards or will it be a completely new base model?

Also, if I buy this year. Can I send it to you next year for a keyboard change?

It's likely to be in the first quarter of 2012, probably March time at a guess.

I don't think the current models will support an upgraded keyboard but without seeing these I cannot confirm either way. If they are compatible, you will be able to order one and fit this yourself, or we can fit this for you for a collection & re-delivery charge.

At present we are only going to be getting stock on the Vortex range, but by next year this will probably have changed to more ranges.

So the 15.6" Vortex has no 3D whatsoever... no 3D screen and you can't even use 3D TV Play by connecting it to a 3D tv... that's a bit of a let down...

The graphics card supports 3D Vision, so yes you can connect it to an external 3D TV and purchase a seperate 3D vision kit.

any idea at all.......

I'm just wondering whether or not to hold out for the 580m or get the 560m model now

Approximately £330 more expensive than the 560M model. Stock is due in in about 1 month.

We are getting an air shipment of Vortex II + 580M in the next 5 - 7 days :)

i really want it, but dont know whether gaming 3d using gtx580m worth it.... can i get playable fps ( i dont mind reducing resolution to 720p thought)?
