Taking delivery of my new Optimus laptop later on this morning. Can't wait!!! Going to be downloading some AV and WoW as a priority. Do you guys think it's worth going on to the various components websites and downloading the latest drivers or wait to see if there are any issues first? I will post a full review next week when I've had a chance to play around with it.

Hopefully you won't be disappointed. I've had mine for 6 months or so now and with the exception of the "premium onkyo speakers" I am pretty happy with my purchase. I have a 250 gig samsung evo ssd as my boot and a 1 Tb data hdd which makes it pretty quick and responsive. As for the speakers they are pretty carp, even with the Creative SB cinema installed and working. This isn't a major problem for me as I have a good pair of externals fitted. As a little point for those that need or want a "stereo mix" option in the sound recording section, with the supplied drivers for win 7 and 8 it isn't there. This is a problem that many PC's, laptops or otherwise suffer from now. A result of pressure from various companies to prevent recording from the internet, not as some would have you believe, a problem with windows 7 or 8. I have a Sony laptop which has the exact same problem. The way I have found to overcome it with the Optimus is to use the ViaHD Audio driver V10_1200a, available from the Via website. This replaces the stereo mix option in the recording section of the sound properties. Using this driver, although allowing stereo mix, prevents the SB cinema program from installing. So you can take your choice, SB cinema or stereo mix. I will look at this problem when time permits to see if there is a way to get the two working together. Hope you enjoy your new lappy.
