15.6 Vortex

Just interested in any thoughts on the following spec.

The ssd will be replaced when it arrives and the 250gb one will go in my old laptop.

I was looking at a 17.3 inch vortex shortly before the 970/980 graphics cards came out and was put of by the price increase.

Now considering the spec below, I think that it would do everything I need, mainly just wanted to check if I have made any glaring errors or if there is anything important I should have added!

Any feedback is welcome!

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for quick reply,

Will be used for a combination of uni work and gaming, this spec will probably be much more than I need for the type of gaming I do but hopefully should mean I wont need to replace it for a long time! On the work side there will be the odd bit of Matlab which can at times be quite CPU intensive.

Yeah the 4810 cpu has extra instruction sets which may come in handy for matlab as well as the boost in clock speed. Looks good. Vortex is a great chassis as well, more robust with aluminium.

I have a 512gb Crucial MX100 SSD which I will put in alongside the drive that comes with the laptop (different to what I said was going to happen above), just checked and replacing the Samsung SSD with the same size Kingston HyperX 3k one only adds £6.00 to the price. Would this be worthwhile?

Of all the SSD's available the price for 250gb is around the same, which one is the best option?

The hyper-x and Samsung's are both excellent. My own thought are that the Kingston may be more reliable, but that the Samsung may peak in speed terms. Really it's quite neck and neck, hard to tell between them.
