I have a dilemma between which one to select. Are there any known advantages or notorious owner's problems between the two?

Chassis & Display
Defiance Series: 15.6" OR 17.3" Matte Full HD IPS LED Widescreen (1920x1080)

Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor 6700HQ (2.6GHz, 3.5GHz Turbo)

Memory (RAM)
8GB HyperX IMPACT 2400MHz SODIMM DDR4 (1 x 8GB)

Graphics Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M - 6.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 12
Free Item: FREE RAINBOW SIX OR ASSASSINS CREED with select GTX 9 Series GPUs!

GIGABIT KILLER

NO OS.

1. I noticed that the 15" has a sim card slot on the right. Whilst the 17" advert page has the same SIM 3G feature stated by PCS, but I haven't been able to find out whether there is actually one and if so, where the SIM slot is?

2. Do neither have G-sync? Should I wait until next year, no rush.

3. Just saw I get a free game with the graphic's card. If I sell this can I make back some profit?

4. Any reason why the 17" is £108 more expensive with the same spec :(

I will mainly use it as a desktop replacement, with it connected to an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. Is the £108 extra worth paying for the 17.3"?

Thank you in advance.

Warm regards,
Afia2k8.

I think the 17" 970M version allows you to put in 7mm + 9.5mm HDD, while the 15" version only allows 2 x 7mm. But I need to confirm that.

There is a G-sync version of the Defiance II on the Clevo website, but PCS don't sell it.

2 x 7mm is fine for me.

I'm more concerned about whether the 17" actually has a sim card slot for 3G?

Does PCS have any timeline of whether they will sell the G-Sync version, as they are selling it for the Octane laptops but that's not portable enough for me.

Plus, Do you have any idea between the difference in the Network card? I'm not sure if the GAGABIT KILLER is worth the £30 upgrade over the standard?

In addition, does anyone know when does PCS refreshes their laptop production line? Or when does the usual new chasis/processors/graphics cards come out and arrive at PCS.

I'm in no rush to get a laptop. Thanks.

Since these forums are not an offical channel of support you'll probably only get an answer to that if you email/phone them - whilst they do sometimes get time to read the forums - they probably don't get to see all the questions posed to them here.

It'll be when the manufacturers (Clevo do most of the laptops chassis I believe) make their new chassis available to PCS, if you're going to be contacting PCS about the above question, ask this at the same time :):) , but I do know that quite a few chassis have recently been updated so they now have Skylake CPUs
