15.6" (and 17.3") Matte Screens now available

We finally have stock from AUO on 15.6" matte screens!

This is an update on our new models:

AU Optronics B156HW01 V.3 - 15.6" Matte 60% Gamut
AU Optronics B173HW01 V.5 - 17.3" Matte 60% Gamut

These are available on The Engima III, Optimus II and Vortex II series of laptops.

Before someone posts about 95% gamut screens:

1. We don't have any.
2. They're a factory discontinued model.
3. AUO are not making any new models to the best of my knowledge.
4. We're not getting any stock.

Will you now be using these new Matte screens on current pre-production models automatically? I had ordered a 17.3 Vortex II with a Matte screen but then I think it was the Chi Mei Matte display? I'm just curious whether there is a significant difference between either models or if the Chi Mei has been replaced altogether by the AUO?

If I can recall correctly the ChiMei N173HGE had 72% gamut compared to the AUO 60% but that would probably be too simplified a method to compare potential screen quality.

We plan to use these for the current models as AUO are a much higher quality than Chi-mei, regardless of the reported gamut, and just by looking at the two screens the picture quality on the AUO model is much higher.

Great, thank you for the quick and informative reply.

My order should be moving to the build stage soon and the matte screen was my only real concern as I found little information on the Chi Mei screen, but I'm relieved to hear your opinion on the AUO models.

Don't mean to nitpick but AUO B173HW01 V.5 are supposed 72% gamut not 60%, it's being reported at 72% everywhere else.
