Basically this http://pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/ultraNote/ but with a 4th gen processor and 13" screen, need something super portable for uni unlike my current 15.6" enigma III. I guess 14" might work. Does anyone know if any new laptops are on the way with this sort of spec? I was interested in the Optimus V but from reading a few reviews its too "chunky".

i7 4th gen intel
8gb ram
backlit keyboard

Roughly what im after. Budget of about £750 (if I manage to sell mine!)

I don't think the ultranote has a backlit keyboard, the other alternative is the 13" Optimus but what do you need it for? If it is not for gaming you and just general use the integrated gpu should be fine.

Yeh not for gaming just quite intense usage. Would be using for DJing, music production, web production etc...To be honest might be best to wait and see then. The Optimus is far to thick for what i'm after, seen a photo next to a phone on a review site. Hopefully they will replace the ultra note with something more up to date! Thanks :)

I was in the same market (I also score mobility & lightness higher) but was looking for the Inferno (smaller screen). I think I'm going to get the Optimus V. i did a size comparison in a previous post. There's only 6mm difference height between the Optimus V and the Ultranote - but the optimus has the better screen, backlit keyboard and is 4th gen.

Maybe this will be useful:

http://www.digitaltrends.com/laptop-reviews/avadirect-clevo-w230st-review/#/9 - this was the review that put me off it, not trying to put you off of course but my enigma III isn't even that thick and I wouldn't want it any thicker. Also i'm not really in need of something for gaming so can hold off on that side which also means a bit cheaper and potentially better battery by using onboard gfx. I'm hoping the 3rd gen ultranote will be replaced soon to update to the 4th gen model. Let me know what you decide :)
