£600 Budget for a laptop - Help please

Hello,

I used this forum a while ago to purchase a desktop for myself and the help from everyone on the forum was flawless. The PC to this day is superb and as a very satisfied customer I am now returning to ask for help for my sister who is looking to buy a laptop for when she moves away for University in March. She has a budget of around £500-£600, and it will be mainly used for general things students use a laptop for. She doesn't have any interest in gaming, it's mainly for writing essays/university work, general browsing and watching TV/movies as it is likely to be her 'television' as well as a laptop whilst she is away. She'd like something that will last her the 3 years of her course and more if possible.

I'm asking for someone to help me as I did similar when I was looking for a desktop and the help I received was perfect as I've a;ready mentioned. I'm not in the know regarding specs which is why I have come here instead.

Thanks for your reply Kenyes. I've spoken to my sister and due to the fact she will also use this as her main source of television, she would really like a high resolution screen. I've put this together just wondered if you or anyone else had any comments on it please;

Hi HCFC_CLARK,

The spec you have shared here seems perfect for your sisters needs. I would look at upgrading to Arctic Thermal Paste just to keep temps down, especially if you are going to be using the laptop on your bed etc.
