£2k budget desktop advice

Hi, I've never purchased a desktop before so could use some advice. I have looked through the desktop building guide which seems to maintain a 3060 ti would be sufficient?

I'm looking for an AMD system for silky smooth gameplay with high graphical settings at 100+ FPS at 1440p on the newer games such as Halo Infinite, Battlefield 2042 etc when they come out.

My budget is £2k excluding monitor (i also need to get a monitor, 1440 with at least 144 hz )

I'm pretty useless when it comes to tech so i'm not too sure what setup would meet my needs. any advice is appreciated.

I started with a 5600x but that's as far as I've got. Not sure which motherboard to pair with, perhaps a B550 Plus?

This has everything that you'll need.
5600x would probably do the job nicely but the 5800x means you'll have 8 cores which mirrors what consoles currently have. A lot of modern games are now utilising more cores such as Warzone so 8 cores will look after you for the next few years.
3200mhz is the real sweet spot for RAM but 3600mhz is actually cheaper on the configurator at the moment and you can get RGB for free.
Storage set up with the 980 pro for OS and programs, the Intel drive for games and the HDD for general storage.
Solid PSU that will support a GPU upgrade a few years down the road to keep playing the latest titles at high settings.
