Looking to get a gaming/general system using a single screen.

Obviously i'd appreciate feedback if i've made any glaring errors or if you have any info to improve the setup. i've pretty much maxed the budget (gone over slightly) and i'm hoping it fits the holy trinity of - Balance, Bang-for-Buck and Future proof (with cool and quiet thrown in).

You could consider the vanquish enforcer in the review section for less than £1500

With the price drops of the Nvidia cards the Vanquish Enforcer isn't quite as a good a bargain as it used to be, especially for someone that doesn't need to do much OCing... I wonder if PCS will discontinue that review build soon? Either that or drop the price of it (in relation to the dropped 780 price) to make it more of a good deal like it used to be (although they never change review prices do they I don't think??).

Would be nice if PCS had a slightly more current review build for a top end desktop really... nothing for 5 months now and the Vanquish GT1 is kind of obsolete at it's price level now given the GPU new releases and price changes.

I think it is still cheaper than getting the same components.

Cant really comment on the case , but everything else looks great for games , The GTX-780 will play nearly everything out there in "ultra" & 60fps

If you really want a better case , then you could drop that SSD , not really needed for games (will give better bootup times though)

But me personally i would rather have the better case , can always throw in an SSD at a later date if you feel the need for it :D

This build would play games much better than the build you posted. The sacrifice made here is the lack of SSD, and the lack of 3D/120Hz monitor. But this would be much more future proof, and would be much more powerful when it comes to games.

An alternative build for about the same as your original, with the monitor of your choice but using the 770, You get a larger SSD, More RAM, the PSU is large enough so that in a year or so you can add another 770 in SLi. My thinking behind this is that GPU's tend to be the parts that you upgrade most, they are also the parts that depreciate in value most so this would be a great PC now and in a year or two you could add another GPU for less money and have a beast then too...

:):):):):)

Damnit you guys ! :nono:

I just wanted you to all say "Hey yeah that's great, buy it now".....

............... but instead you've given me 2 new specs to try and decide from.:confused::no::confused::no::confused:

It took me ages to decide on my build and now I'm back where I started, can't choose. :censored:

Only one thing left to do...............:hang:

But seriously, thanks for the feedback and when (if) I can ever make up my mind, I'll post back with the results (just so you can all tell me I've got it wrong or to give me 12 other builds I should get instead :D )

Jester.

EDIT: +1 rep to all, cheers.
