One other question (cause im out of the loop) am i right in thinking that (with my 3080ti) im better off connecting to the monitor with display port rather than hdmi? and if so is this cable suitable...
Ive been searching around for a good monitor for my new 3080 Rig. This one seems to have pretty good ratings where ever ive looked on the net, although not perfect (cause nothing ever is) it does seem to check the boxes i need. I wondered if anyone has this monitor or has knowledge of it. It...
Im looking to get a 4k 144hz monitor too, what annoys me is on amazon they claim a lot of monitors have 144 refresh rate but in the description it states 60HZ, very misleading. They seem as hard to get hold of as RTX cards at the moment!
I actually clicked on the one i wrote above and it actually said 60hz rather than 144hz it was suggesting so a bit of false advertising by amazon there. However this one looks good and has 144hz. "LG Ultra Gear 27" Gaming monitor QHD (2560x1440 1ms Nvidia G-sync" Its £343 which isnt bad. I...
Awesome thanks Agent Cooper! I will change the ram like suggested. Also i will probably go with the gold warranty rather than the silver one, its a bit more expensive i know but when spending this much i like to be covered as much as possible. I think there was an LG monitor which was 4k 144hz...
I kinda saved over my build with Agent Coopers lol i only had 3 hours sleep last night and its really starting to show now :) I think i can drop the blu ray player off, bit of an after thought and tbh i think i might have an external drive around here somewhere any way. Im thinking practical...
Theres some nasty (but expected) waiting times for RTX's at the moment but happy to wait tbh. Ok heres an updated spec below. Looks like my tv is unfortunately a 60HZ so getting a monitor down the line would probably be a good idea. If you guys could recommend some that would be awesome. Made...
Thanks everyone for your help. I will take a look at my tv refresh rate and see what it is but i expect you are right there. I need to have a tinker with my spec as well. Thanks.
Hi thanks for the reply, my budget is around 3-4k as i was willing to spend that on a laptop. I would most likely be using it with my 4k sony tv, i think its a 55 inch. Also ive taken a look at another guys build here so ive amended mine to a similar spec, although ive still included the 3090...

I was going to go for an intel drive myself, but was put off by the low durability mentioned by someone else so i went with a PCS SSD as well. I havent got mine yet as ive not long submitted it but im sure its the right choice.
Ok having a look at the standard SSDs ive read that PCle NVMe are better than the SATAs (correct me if im wrong) so which would be the best choice in your opinion out of these
512GB Intel 660p M.2 PCLe NVMe (up to 1500MB/sR 1000MB s/W
512GB PCS PCLe M.2 SSD (2000MB/R 1100MB/W
512GB ADATA SU800...
Thanks guys for your input here. I doubt if it makes too much difference, i guess, funny thing is i originally bought a laptop from pc specialist back in 2014 (win 7) and it is pretty much inferior in every way to my 2017 laptop (win 10) except the HD which was far superior, and in every day...
Im really glad i mentioned about the optane ssd. It kinda sounds a bit too good to be true and there isnt a massive difference in price when you swap between the ssd drives (unless going for a massive one. Thanks for your help there. I dont want the laptop for gaming as i swapped some years...
