ok, I'm thinking of changing my order to 2 X Corsair 1tb mp600, instead of the one crucial t705 1tb with a 50/50 partition.
I realise it will give me the advantage of more space but I will be losing out on some ssd speed, will the two ssd's run cooler than the one?
Does this sound like a good move?
I need advice from some who knows about SSD drives.
I am getting a 1TB drive which I requested be partitioned in half.
I was going to put windows on one half and install programs on the other half along with storage of video and images.
It has been suggested that the SSD would perform better if...
Just been looking over my order and I see I ordered the Corsair 1 tb ssd. There is also a Crucial 1 tb which is £70 more but twice as fast. I'm thinking that for my use case, Lora training, a faster drive might be advantageous.
What do you all think, has crucial got a good name in drives? will I...
You said "We did point that out at the very start a few times" Yes you pointed out the machine will permanently throttle, which I accept, but you seem to have missed the context of my question in relation to that fact.
Because, in my opinion it defeats the object of it being a laptop. with the water cooler it is no longer portable, apart from that I've seen Youtube tests where the magnetic coupling leaks with the slightest movement, I have no wish to have to deal with water on my desk especially around...
I'm not going to be game playing with my new laptop, I want to get into AI lora training and video/image production.
I was speaking to someone who told me that I'm wasting my money on such a high spec machine as it's going to permanently throttle because I have no desire to add a water cooler...
Just wondering while waiting for my laptop.
Will I be able to easily change from using it's power when I'm doing intensive stuff to low power when just using it for web surfing, watching Youtube etc?
Is it even worth putting it on a low setting when not needing the power?
While on the subject has anyone trained a lora on Tensor art and then used the lora locally on the own stable diffusion?
I would like to to start training now while my PC is on order but concerned that the results I get from using the lora online might look different when used locally.
Sorry, I am unsure where people go to get their images to train loras, just wondered if anyone on here was using their PC for the same and could point me in the right direction.
