@TonyCarter ... Thanks again Tony, I'll get the SSD ordered because either way I will be able to install it. I would prefer to have it on the motherboard of course.
My gaming PC has an ASUS® ROG MAXIMUS Z690 motherboard and it has two SSD slots - I am using both. I want to add a third 2TB SSD specifically for DCS World. I assume I can install a PCI M.2 adapter but is there a performance tradeoff? From the info I can find, it looks like this installation of...
Hi
Yes, it is PC Specialist PC but I have resolved the problem, I'll explain for anyone else who has the same 'issue'.
It occured to me that I am using a Bluetooth connected keyboard and then I was thinking, how is the PC going to recognise the keyboard before it's booted up? I plugged in my...
I have a ASUS® ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO WIFI (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) motherboard and when booting it asks for F2 or Delete to be pressed to boot to the BIOS. So I have tried both in any number of different combinations ... pressing each while the computer is booting, holding down each while it...
Sorry guys, I just figured it out. It seems that the Cosmos C700M has alternative configurations and the riser cable allows you to move the graphics card to a vertical position to show it off in all it's glory. Right anyone? I just left this thread on in case anyone else was wondering.
Yo, yo! My new gaming computer arrived today. The case is the Cosmos C700M with 'Addressable RGB Lighting' and 'Riser Cable'. So what on earth is a 'Riser Cable'? It must be quite trick to warrant printing the fact on the box :p
It's a feature of the monitor. And yes, you do have to put up with the big black borders. You can shift the screen area up and down so it's not so bad if I align it with my second monitor. The 34" and 27" are wide screen format.
LOL It's all to do with how close you are. If you put a piece of paper in front of you with a centre line and a 45 degree angle either side, where the 45 degree lines bisect the edge of the monitor that's how far away it should be 👍🏻You can actually set the screen size on this monitor so for...
Hi Guys
Jus a quick update, the computer in being built as we speak and, after much deliberation, I have decided to pair it up with the Asus 42" ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ monitor. I have an ultra wide monitor at the moment (3440 x 1440) but I find in DCS World that static objects tend to have a...
Hi MArtin36. I have a five port hub I use now and it doesn't seem to slow things down. After all, all I'm using is joystick, throttle, TrackIR, headphones etc. I did get a powered hub however, which I think is important.
Perfect. My current PC looks the same as the image you posted so I sort of imagined the new PC would be fairly similar. Well, that's settled. I'll place the order today. Thanks again for your input on this, it's been invaluable in helping me make the right decisions 👍
I agree with you on the warranty, I have always bought my PC's/Laptops from PC Specialist and I have never needed to claim on any of the warranties, which I think says a lot for the build and quality of the componenets!
One last question before I hit the go button ... pretty much everything I have plugged into my PC runs on USB. The spec above says "MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS" Is it worth upgrading this?
Thanks SpyderTracks, I will take you advice. The only thing I changed was I upped the support to the Gold Warranty. £69 works out to be just about 6p per day over three years, if my maths is right, and that seems cheap for peace of mind :)
Thanks TonyCarter, you get it 👍. It's a big investment and the last thing I want to find is that I missed something fundamental. I have bought PC's before that I can't upgrade because of limitations in the power supply or the case isn't big enough to fit more modern components.
Mickor ... Hi, I wasn't asking if it was fast enough, I know it's up to the job, I was just asking if there is anything that coul dbe changed to maybe make it a little more future proof. Maybe a slightly more powerful power supply? Thst sort of thing. 👍
:)
