No, it is nothing to do with the warranty, I have full insurance with PC Specialist. It's to do with the points Asus give you, 5000 I think. You can buy games etc with it.

I found the serial number by using CMD, I am trying to register the motherboard with ASUS, but it needs a CN too. Any help is appreciated. I really don't want to pull out the case and open it, as it's a mission under my desk and not easily accessed.

It does auto shift between the two, that can be the difference. I phoned the ISP ages ago, and he created just a 5Ghz network, but because it is not 100% consistent, it would drop out sometimes, I went back to the 2.4GHz/5GHz as it switches seamlessly without looking connection.
