Not sure why it's saying 0.00 as a price, but it was quoted at £1,057 incl. VAT

PCSPECIALIST First PC for Child - Feedback please

So a couple of years ago, I bought myself a very nice PCSpecialist PC and have been happily gaming with it. More recently I find it more and more to detach my 10 & 12 year old children from it, as the relatively old laptops they have for schoolwork can't throw polygons around to their...

PCSPECIALIST Zen 3 Tracking thread (5900x/5950x)

My 5900x and 3080 just went into build yesterday @ 92 days So fingers crossed, maybe another month?

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

Maybe... I think in reality you had a big lot of orders when the 3080 came out (Sep?) and then another spike in early Nov when the AMD chips arrived. Basically all the early adopters piling in. And I suspect after that it's been back to normal. So I think it's heartening to see 11th Nov orders...

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

Thanks I know they had 1560 orders for the 3080 but that was back on 20th Jan, so I'd assumed that has come down somewhat since then

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

The guy I spoke to at PCS today was suggesting end-April for things to potentially ease. What is clear though is PCS got a good number of 3080s at the end of last week. There's 5-10 people posted in this thread (plus the silent others), plus they're now working on the big lump of orders that...

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

So because I will be emigrating in a few weeks, I finally gave PCS a call today to see if I should just cancel. And interestingly they said the stock for my order had literally been picked 15 mins earlier and i should get my PC by the end of the week. The order page still says pre-production...

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

Agreed, but equally if you've got a huge delivery of 5900s come in, and no idea when the next lot of 3080s are due, do you allocate the stock to the people waiting longest - which will be the 3080 customers, and have everyone waiting and no computers going out the door. Or do you actually build...

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

I tend to agree with you but if you look at the Zen 3 thread, there's quite a few going into build there, waiting time <50 days, just not with 3080s. It's people like me with the 5900 and 3080 ( 89 days & counting) who are in the complete opposite of a 'sweet spot' and I can understand that PCS...

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

I suspect there will be several more cakes needed soon. I'm on 88 days and not holding my breath for a magic intervention in the next 2-3 weeks. Having said that it does seem that component sellers are starting to have more stock / smaller waiting lists. And whilst i know it won't answer all...

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

84 Days 5900, 3080 suspect there's a lot of us on 84 days as that's the date the AMD orders went live
  14. Q

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

As per above, but for 23 days, read 66 days *sigh*

    PCSPECIALIST RTX 3080

I also use Scan as a proxy. The trouble is, I forgot to take a note of what their pre-orders were on what date, so whilst they are clearly receiving stock and processing orders, it's difficult to get a sense of the backlog date they've cleared. It is clear though, that other than the ASUS cards...

PCSPECIALIST First new Gaming PC for 8 years - feedback please

Thank you - this is really helpful feedback. I particularly like the 3080 is overpowered, but just buy some better kit to go with it - my kind of approach

PCSPECIALIST First new Gaming PC for 8 years - feedback please

All, As the title suggests, haven't upgraded my PC for 8 years (bar the odd component or two) so am starting again. Main purpose is Gaming (Cyberpunk 2077; Baldurs Gate 3 etc.). Budget is £2000 - £2,500 so there's a little room, if you think I've got it wrong. In terms of monitors, it'll drive...
