its not bad, theres a few things i would change though
Case - i'd pick one with better airflow.
CPU - the 5600x is one of the best CPU's available right now for both gaming and productivity
Storage - Id go with the Firecuda, m.2 you'll have to sacrifice a little space but it's much faster...
I'd go with an AMD build, thier latest chips are far better than anything Intel can produce right now they're also cheaper and you'll have more room to upgrade parts when needed.
notable changes:
CPU: The latest and greatest 5600x
Google/Youtube will tell you everything you need to know about...
There's a handful of things that can be changed to make for a more balanced and cost effective build.
Whats your budget?
Whats the machine going to be used for mainly?
What monitor do you plan on using this for?
Looks good to me. That's one hell of a machine you'll have once it arrives.
If your looking to cut costs you could easily get away with 16GB ram @ 3600MHz its more than enough for any modern AAA game. Another set of the same ram is currently about £80 on Amazon at the moment and its a easy...
A few things to consider...
64GB for adobe suite is overkill, 16gb is more than enough, 32GB is a better sweet spot if your thinking about future proofing,
AMD's are the better CPU so I they're also cheaper and can be paired with faster ram. I would strongly consider an AMD build over Intel...
Thanks for the input. Gonna stick with the 1660S and 1080p as gaming will be secondary for the time being.
That being said I ended up pulling the trigger on the EX2510 i'll share my thoughts on it when it arrives.
Below is good 1080p gaming build you'll have zero issues running all the games you mentioned and then some. It's quite similar to what I recently ordered and it got the approval from the more knowledgeable guys here.
However the build doesn't include the monitor, you'll have to spend another...
You could get a much better PC at a lower cost if you go with an AMD build, their latest 5X CPU's are the best on the market.
An equivalent AMD build would look something like the one below (the more knowledgeable on here will further fine tune it)
If you intend on gaming at 1080p which you'll...
An AMD CPU would be the better option but since you've already ordered no point in making any drastic changes. There are a few things worth considering.
- PCS, Seagate or samsung are better options for your m.2 drives
- The upgraded warranty is worth the extra £5.
- Get the 1660 Super if your...
What's your budget?
This build will have no problem with civ 6 or witcher but it's unbalanced. you're wasting a lot of money on parts you dont need.
If you could post the reconfig link we can make some changes to your build.
£1.5k gets you a pretty good machine.
This is what I would do..
Case
CORSAIR 275R AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready!
Memory (RAM)
16GB...
That's probably the best he's going to get for around £700, not sure how well its gonna cope with the more demanding games though like COD
I still agree that £800 is the baseline, £750 being the best compromise
I'd go with a 6 core CPU at the minimum, have smaller but slightly faster Ram for...
Looks fine as long as you know that there's no way you'll be able to play anything at 4k 60Hz with a 1650. You're going to have to spend more if 4k gaming is the goal.
That's a nice build.
The graphics card you have is more than capable of running any game at 4k resolution so it might be worth considering a 1440p monitor at the least if your budget allows for it.
I believe this one is the next model up: Samsung Odyssey LC27G55TQWUXEN 27" G55 1000R
I'm...
HI Rich
What monitor do you plan on getting for him? It's always better to build the machine around the monitor to avoid bottle necking (no point having a 1440p graphics card if your only planning on gaming at 1080p)
from the above a few things stand out which id personally consider...
I'm no expert but from the build above there's a lot that could be changed for a better balanced machine.
- less ram. 32GB is overkill for your needs. (fortnite only uses around 4GB) consider 16gb instead. Ram is an easy upgrade later down the road and you can use the free cash for upgrades...
Probaby not what you want to hear but id save up & spend a touch extra. An extra £70 or so will get you a much better machine
256gb isn't going to last long especially if you're gaming. The general consensus on radeon GPU's is to avoid due to driver issues. A 1660s will do a better job for...
