Sorry for being away from here for so long, I didn't have a computer to reply! It has now been returned to me from the RMA and it is a million times better!!! Effectively one of the fans on the GPU hadn't been hooked up to the motherboard and so it was just roasting in seconds...

I don't know... NVidia's website says that the 2070 Super portables best operating range is 70-80 degrees. I would be fine if I were hitting 85+ degrees after a protracted period of gaming but it is literally <5 mins into me starting Civ 6 and it's throttling and hitting >90 degrees.

The rest has all been done with official websites and from PCS. I have installed gaming centre and put in a custom fan curve which hasn't helped... I am at a bit of a loss in all honesty.
My drivers were sourced from GeForce experience and then from the pcspecialist personalised downloads section. They're all up to date for my graphics card and processor
I did a clean install of windows from a bootable USB about 6 days ago now, it was hot for about 1-2 days but then settled.
