Hi, I've never purchased a desktop before so could use some advice. I have looked through the desktop building guide which seems to maintain a 3060 ti would be sufficient?
I'm looking for an AMD system for silky smooth gameplay with high graphical settings at 100+ FPS at 1440p on the newer...
Hi all,
Hi, I have re-pasted the GPU and CPU. The paste inside looked fine to me tbh, but i've cleaned it and re-applied. Whilst my idle temps seems to have decreased quite a bit my problem still remains.
@DarkPaladin I can run Apex on ultra/high settings at >100 fps consistently (except for...
Thank you for the helpful reply.
I have just tried playing a game and the issue the thread pertains to still occurs. I've monitored the thermals and CPU/GPU temps seem to spike up over 90 degrees quite regularly when under load.
So do PCS offer laptop cleaning/servicing ?
Where/how am I supposed to get it serviced and cleaned without voiding the warranty. Surely for people who aren't tech savvy such as myself, it would be much more sensible to employ a professional (i got unlucky that my professional dropped the...
I don't have much confidence in Mr butterfingers to replace the chassis! The T&Cs of the repair shop stipulate they won't be held liable for accidental damage, so if I go after them it may get messy. That's why I'd rather obtain repair estimates first and explore where this leaves me legally.
I do not want to return to the same technician.
I would rather go to PCS if it's a service they offer, seeing as they could source the chassis with ease and if it's expensive, I would look to the technician who dropped it for monetary compensation.
We had not entered in a contract of work...
I've just taken it to a laptop repair shop.
They didn't accept walk in customers because of covid so I had to meet the technician outside his office, when I handed the laptop to him, he opened the carry case and tried to take my laptop out. It slipped out of his hand onto concrete and my laptop...
Hi Spyder,
I thought this, so I cleaned out the laptop which was admittedly full of dust. I cleaned out two fans. Maybe I didn't clean it properly but I removed heavy dust from two fans? I'm not sure.
The frame rate drops happen even when my laptop isnt hot on my first game for example.
I'll...
Hi all,
I'm experiencing quite a weird situation where I get seemingly random frame rate drops on games such as Doom Eternal and Apex Legends. I have done all the usual steps like updated to latest GPU drivers, turned off background programs/Windows Gamebar. My laptop is plugged in and set to...
Hi,
I have my laptop back now and so far it runs perfectly fine.
Comments from PCS:
" After I received your system I confirmed the issue you have been experiencing. I found that the GPU had developed a fault and needed replacing, due to the age of your system I instead replaced the entire...
The original Doom was one of the first games I ever played. I did briefly play a demo of Doom 3 and that was incredible! The combination of zombies and sci fi.
I have watched friends play Read Dead Redemption (again, there were zombies in this one??) Looks fun!
Assassins Creed; now I've heard...
I haven't gamed in years and I've recently just bought a laptop that should be able to handle most games once it's fixed. My gaming history is as follows (i'll ignore really old games and stick to somewhat modern games)
Games I own
Elder Scrolls Skyrim
Battlefield 3
Battlefield 4
GTA 5 (barely...
didnt work unfortunately! Time to start packing up I think. collection is booked for Wednesday.
I mean ultimately, I shouldn't really have to be doing any of this! It should work seamlessly. Will send it back and see what they say.
