Ah, I do notice the PCS order status guide says:-
"In Building: Time: 1 -3 days unless a component is missing"
So perhaps I can't assume "In Building" means they have the CPU?
I placed my order with the 5900X on 11th Nov. I phoned today (on hold for almost 50 mins) and was told they expect the processors for my build in the next few days. So it's just possible I might get the PC at the end of next week, more likely the week after.
Thanks for your review. I can't wait to get mine now. Ordered it on 11th Nov so hoping it will arrive before Christmas.
It's interesting you're seeing 30-35 degrees with the Noctua NH-U14S. Perhaps there was no need to change to the Corsair H115i RGB PRO XT.
I got that email too this morning regading the 850W RMx.
"Unfortunately due to stock constraints, we are unable to get the part in stock within a reasonable time frame"
At the moment I only need about 400W so it's tempting to drop down to the 750W RMx. However, as I want the system to be...
Looking at it further, I think the H115i RGB PRO XT may only be an RGB pump, not fans. Very confusing, especially as there are so many similar sounding 115 variants.
Thanks Scott.
I find the H115i variants a bit confusing. I amended the order to "Corsair H115i RGB PRO XT CPU Cooler". As far as I can tell, it includes the ML fans. I'd go for a basic PRO XT without the RGB if it were listed (does such a version exist?). The PLATINUM currently isn't available.
Thanks for your help. I've made most of the tweaks you suggest, including the cooler and the additional M.2 SSD.
As I'd already loaded the original order (because it took a day to register for the forums) I've put it through as an amendment. Hopefully it will be understood that I want Windows...
Thank you for taking a look at the spec and for your suggestions.
Do you think I'd notice any benefit going for the ultra quiet version of the H115i, with the Akasa Apache Black fans? I'm not bothered about losing the RGB.
I'm ordering a new high end PC. At first I mostly want to use it for Photoshop and stock market trading (this requires a lot of custom scripts which can stretch my current PC when the market is very busy). Whilst I'd expect this spec to be an overkill for my current needs I want a PC that will...
