Ok, that has sorted it, but the GFX card seems to be damaged -- the 'catch' part of the board was broken in the catch lock on the MB and there is a dent in the GFX casing at the same point. I think I'm going to be OK, though, as damage looks superficial.,

Yes, Monitor is on and in standby before I try and start the PC. Monitor is also set to pick up the correct input channel -- tested on this working PC.

The GFX cars (Gigabyte) is also drawing power -- it's fans are working and has LED illumination.
