My laptop hasn't worked since the day I had it a year ago. 8 engineers have tried to fix it but they are all useless and just repeat the same stuff as the last one did - complete shambles. Some one called [name removed] is supposed to be dealing with it now but he repeatedly ignores my emails (9...
Clearly not read any part of my numerous issues; or simply have no idea.
For example one reason for my boot taking ten mins when I first got it was that the SSD with the OS on was set in the UEFI to be the 6th device that the laptop looked for for an OS. PCS already admitted they should not...
Many thanks for comments.
What made it all worse was I had some friends around for the "unboxing"! Of course got it unboxed and we couldn't turn the blinking thing on after 15 mins. They went home totally unimpressed ... as was I! So much for PCS QA before delivering their "bricks" - avoid them...
I previously described some of the issues I had with my £2k laptop in this thread - https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/very-very-disappointed.87597/ and that ignores the many many calls, waiting for non existent call backs, many emails, blah blah blah that didn't resolve all my...
Nope. No response from PCS or to this post. My update is as below:
Not true that my issues were resolved fully.
The Office issue as I said before involved me dealing with 7 different engineers over a protracted timescale with one of them lying that I'd get a call back that never came. Each one...
I bought an expensive (£2k ish) AIO from PCS in 2016 and was very pleased with it. Now I accept stuff goes wrong and a small PSU board was found to be a fire risk and PCS asked me if I wanted to return the PC or fit the new PSU board myself. I did the latter and the PC has been great ever since...
Seems the root cause is that PCS have had some issue recently affecting how they license Office 2019 and that is why mine wouldn't work. I got a refund and bought Office 21 from MS directly.
Thank you. You are right. Now I have changed that it is much better. But why didn't PC Specialist deliver the laptop to me like that? It's been causing me chaos having to mess around so much and sometimes taking 10mins+ to turn it on.
Attached image shows the boot order as delivered by PC...
In fact I think I have worked out the issue. I was still having to press the on button for 8-12 seconds to get the laptop to boot.
PCSpecialist support didn't offer any ideas so had to try and work it out for myself. Adding here in case anyone has the same issue.
I went into the UEFI, on...
Just for your information. I just spoke to PCS support, they ran some tests.
Office 2019 is installed an dis what I've been using. Apparently the license is bound to the hardware so that isn't the issue. But Office 365 is complaining it is unlicensed as well as my Office 2019 apps. They seem to...
Thinking about it, maybe the Office version on the laptop was 365 and that is what I've been using during some free trial period that has now ended maybe.
I was expecting Office 2019 to be installed and assumed that was what I was using.
So neither office 2019 installed and no license...
Thanks for your reply.
When I first got the PC Office was working (not 365) but now it says its unlicensed. I have never had a digital license from PCS for it nor is there one in my PCS or Microsoft account.
Nor is there a Office 2019 download option on the PC or in my PCS account.
I will try...
I bought my laptop 2 weeks ago and have moreorless the same issue.
I ordered Office 2019, at first it worked but is now complaining it is unlicensed and isn't working. I've not had any response from PCSpecialist support so trying on here as the £2k laptop is currently just a brick without...
It seems to be:
If laptop in sleep mode then a short press is needed to start it, keep finger on too long and it turns off.
If laptop is fully off then keep finger on power button til it lights up then remove and it will start. If you leave finger on it turns laptop straight off again...
