So between the cooling pad and the undervolt I think the CPU issue is solved even under gaming load.
The bigger issue is the fans going 100% for the GPU even if the temps aren't getting too high. Its not the worst thing in the world but its fairly noticeable.
Yes thats exactly what I'm seeing.
3149 on my undervolted profile. Interestingly thats actually higher than the default which was coming in hotter.
The Gamer mode looks like it underclocks the cores down to 3542 and undervolts to 1.05. Running that in cinebench only gets up to about 75...
Yes I just used the manual settings and only reduced the voltage setting on one profile, leaving the cores at 3600 cycles. This is on the 3600 variant of the Nova.
I didn't change the PPT. You can do this in the Auto Overclocking section but I don't want to piss around too much if its going to...
Similar build and issue. I tested a profile undervolting to 1.125 vs the stock of 1.2375 and its dropped temperatures pretty well. Under a 15% CPU load its mid 60s. I'm expecting a cooling pad today as well so will experiment a little further. The aspiration is to keep it below 80 in a gaming...
Just gotta be patient and go off the official updates rather than trying to guess whats going to happen. Ultimately its built when its built and you can be happy or unhappy about it but you won't get it any faster.
My experience from ordering a Nova laptop about 6 weeks ago would suggest its something of a hybrid. You'll move towards the front of the queue as normal but if the parts arent around then you'll be in limbo. In your case I'd suspect that you wouldn't be that effected (seeing as the parts should...
Thanks for the intel.
If thats true I'm actually quite surprised that they haven't started working on mine. I ordered it just after they ran out of stock (about a month ago). Must be super popular if I wasn't in the first 50 orders since then.
Yeah I might message them tomorrow morning for an update. I can appreciate stock levels being a thing but I'd hoped we'd have heard something 4 weeks after I made the initial order. Might just be that there still isn't any stock of the 2070 for building.
